Transcription: Avoiding is the fourth conflict management style. It is definitely a don't-rock-the-boat approach. Sometimes avoidance makes sense, like when a cooling off period will be productive or more information needs to be gathered. More often, however, avoidance is simply a way of sidestepping a difficult issue, of passing the buck, or hoping someone else will handle the position. Like the dominating style, it is not wise to engage in avoidance as a regular course of action. This approach can be viewed as a sign of weakness or the inability to demonstrate effective action.
